    GRADING:

    Grades will be calculated using a total points system.  All assignments including homework, quizzes, projects, and tests will be assigned a point value.  To calculate a student’s grade, divide the number of points a student earned by the total number of points possible. I try to update my gradebook in Parent/Student Portal at least once a day. Please use this feature to check and monitor your child’s grade and average. During a typical marking period, students should expect:

    • Homework assignments:  4-5 nights per week, about 10-20 points each
    • Quizzes :  0-2 per quarter,  About 25-50 points each
    • Tests:  2-3 per quarter, About 100 points each
    • Projects and group challenges:  when possible, points vary

     

     

     

    HOMEWORK:

    • Homework assignments are posted weekly on my webpage, sent to parents via email, and sent in a message through ParentSquare.
      • Students will fill out their agendas in class for the week on Monday (or the first day of the week).
    • Homework is due the day after it is assigned (unless otherwise stated).
    • All late homework assignments for a chapter are due the day after the chapter test. Any homework turned in after that date will not be accepted.
    • Revisions can be made on all homework assignments.
      • Revisions are due by the end of the day after the chapter test.
      • Students can earn up to full credit back on assignments that are revised.
    • If a student is absent, the student is responsible for completing the work that they missed.
      • Please check the "posts" and "files" section in the Teams math class and the absent work bin in the classroom to find out what was missed.
