Algebra Resources for Students and Families
Introduction:
This work is created by two “non-math” teachers. It is intended to aid individuals who are not traditional math teachers, who must assist students struggling with Algebra concepts. You may find some mnemonics, “tricks”, or hints that do not necessarily reflect teaching in a traditional math way. This work is reflective of different learning styles and strengths in order to assist students to access material presented in a variety of ways. This binder contains twelve units. Each unit is divided into two parts:
Part A: Videos
Part B: Vocabulary, Hints and Explanations
The videos and explanations are presented from different perspectives and teaching styles. Additional examples from the textbook a have been included to use for practice with students.
Connecting learning from previous teaching, explaining the terms that are used (and may not necessarily be higher level math terminology) are highlighted in each section.
